By the by that's a creepy song when you listen to all the words. But seriously, it's very, very chilly here all of a sudden. Surprising since it's now mid-December and the middle of winter and all that jazz.
I do remember assuring people that I knew what cold winters were like. I'm also sure London was this cold and Rochester definitely is too, I just didn't walk quite so much there. But so far the weather has remained less inclimate than it might. Praise be.

Yeah--when they make a musical of Misery, they should include BICO.
Santa Baby and Big Spender are creepy too, but perhaps less surprisingly.
FWIW--everything is colder/hotter when you walk. Smellier too.
i have always thought that about that song!!! i mean seriously? "hey what's in this drink?" really? even when zooey deschenal (sic, i know) and will ferrel sing it all cute and indy-like - STILL CREEPY.
Least creepy version I've heard is Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, but mostly that's because they're playing with its latent creepiness.
i had a friend once who always finished the line "hey, what's in this drink?" with "baby it's roofies." it was a perfect set-up and she couldn't resist. creepy snow man singing with zooey deschanel...he's a snowman for crying out loud!
I love that song! But the first version I heard of it was Bette Midler and you don't worry too much about Bette, she can take care of herself.
You wrote this post before the latest East Coast snowstorm. How'd that go?
Oh the snow was fine. I don't think we got more than 8-10 inches, but they canceled church because you couldn't park on Brattle Street and then the Episcopalian Divinity School refused to shovel until it finished snowing (maybe we didn't have enough Elders around to do the job as it was the holiday). Actually if anything it was warmer. A few days around 10 or 11 really makes 30 seem practically balmy.
